The alliGATOR!

Last night we got out to Audio in Brighton to see avant garde psychedelic rock nutter Pop Levi. GREAT gig. Pop has a stunning live presence, mixing saucy posturing, robotics and bowie-esque stances, while tearing out hendrix/prince style noodly guitar solos. The rest of the band are equally weird, with the guitarist adopting similar mad facial hair and starey eyeliner gaze, and the bass player like someone plucked straight from a monochrome sixties beat combo. Only the drummer had a semblance of normality about his appearance, but even there, his beats were like a non-stop thumping machine. From the opening 10 minute extended intro of 'Sugar Assault Me' it was all top fuzz-bass Led-Zepalike madness. Nice one.

Eggs, Pox, Stress, Beer

So Easter came and went. We bought easter eggs 'for Finlay' and ate them all ourselves! Lovely weather, but I got called by work on Sunday and had to spend the whole afternoon sitting in the spare bedroom with the laptop, which was disappointing. Work in general has been madly busy ever since I was made a manager back in February. It's a steep learning curve, and there's lots to do. I alternate on a daily basis between enjoying the challenge and stressing about the workload. Finlay's had chicken-pox for the last week, just after he'd got over the eye-infection. Good to get it out of the way I guess. He's a spotty little thing, but he's remained very upbeat about the situation, even though his poor little head must be really itchy. I'm very proud of him. Tab's crazy sister came to visit from Cornwall for a few days, and we ventured out to the Red Lion Beer Festival for some real ales. That put me out of action for a couple of days and brought on some sort of throat infection. I tell you - this is a house of sickness! Hope all my readers are well. I know I don't update this as often as I should - busy with work and parenting you see... Got some holiday booked for the end of the month though, so it's not all bad.
